Saturday Archers
Starting Nov 1st, 2014 (19 Weeks) (see calendar for dates and times)
Sessions: 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM or 10:45 AM – 12:45 AM
Cost: $7/session for youth under 18; $10/session for adults for members and non-members.

It offers basic and intermediate archery instructions for beginning adults and children in our indoor target range.  FITA/NFAA/3D targets will be used.  All equipment is provided.  It’s on a “come as you can” basis.
Please park in main lot only.  Children under 16 require a parent or guardian to be present during the lessons.

If you show up 10 minutes early, we can get you setup with the right bow and arrows, so that you and everyone else can get more shooting in.  It is easier to shoot if you do not wear loose fitting clothing (e.g. hoodies, sweatshirts, etc.)

Tuesday Teen & Adult Beginner Lessons

So you want to learn to shoot archery? Are you an adult or mature teen? We have a training program designed with you in mind. We supply all equipment and instruction. We use recurve bows of appropriate draw weight for the shooter. Compound bows must match the shooter not only in draw weight but also in draw length. I will explain the differences between different archery equipment and why you can’t just pick up any bow and shoot it. You may attend any or all evenings. Instruction will be given on an “as needed” basis each evening. If you have your own bow and gear you are welcome to use it.

Twice each year Detroit Archers hosts a family day where both children and adults may come and shoot in our indoor range for fun and awards. All equipment and instructions are provided as well as refreshments. This is an excellent way for both children and adults to try archery in a comfortable learning environment with other novices.

Frank Hall Memorial Youth Shoot
April 5th and 6th, 2014 (shooting times 10:00AM and 1:00PM)

Each year Detroit Archers hosts the Frank Hall Memorial Youth Shoot. This is an indoor target shoot for children ages 6-16 regardless of experience/ability level; from youngsters who have never shot before to state champion archers. All equipment can be provided for beginners. Each child competing receives a hot dog, can of pop and a trophy.

JCC Summer Camps
Starts in the Summer (see calendar for dates and hours): Weeks beginning June 23rd, July 21st, August 11th.

Three one-week day camps in archery are offered each summer in conjunction with the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield, for children ages 6 thru 16.  The camps run from approximately 9AM until 2:30PM, Monday thru Friday. The camps focus on basic archery instruction in a target archery setting with emphasis on safety and archery etiquette.  All equipment is provided.

Group Instructions
Detroit Archers offers instructions for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and approved groups after 5PM on Saturdays if the club is available.
